About Ida

A passionate plant lover, designer, and creator of unique outdoor spaces in West Marin, Ida blends artistry with sustainability to craft landscapes that thrive.

Growing up on a fishing boat in Alaska instilled in her a deep respect for nature’s beauty and resilience. She began her career by saving seeds, which led to farming and eventually ornamental gardening. With over 30 years of experience and a Permaculture Design Certificate, she has built a strong connection to the West Marin community.

For the past 12 years in Inverness, she has specialized in landscaping, personally propagating the plants she integrates into her designs. Her team consists entirely of local residents, ensuring a deep understanding of the region’s ecology. When not designing gardens, she can be found on Tomales Bay, swimming in the creek, or hiking Mt. Vision.
Whether working with longtime residents or newcomers, she designs outdoor spaces that reflect the natural beauty and tranquility of West Marin.
